Lucky Number Slevin…
Good flick, nice twists and turns, horrible title, been there done
that. However with any film of the sort I was waiting for the other
shoe to drop the entire time. I knew not to believe anything presented
in the beginning and to just wait till the end. I guess the best way to
view this film was to know absolutely nothing going into it, not even
that it was a mystery/thiller/whatever was probably too much. I did
enjoy this very much and compared to other films of the same genre it
most definitely floats to the top.

The Guardian…
Nothing new here, we have all seen it before…Backdraft, Top Gun, Swat,
etc… Same formula different profession, this time around we get the
Coast Guard. If you have seen the trailer you can guess the plot. All
that said it was enjoyable in its formulaic way. Despite its
predictability seeing what the Coast Guard does was genuinely
interesting. My only complaints are the ending, which I felt was
unnecessary. Would have much rather seen something drastically
different happen (Being that the film is not even released yet I won't
spoil it for everyone). And for something around two hours in length,
it felt insanely long, although I didn’t start looking at my watch
until close to the end, which maybe reinforces my feeling about the
ending. So others may live, so I have a good time in the theater.

The Protector…
Completely bad ass. Specifically the last 30 minutes. That stairway
scene is epic. Instant legend. The only bad parts about this film are
the non fighting scenes. The car/boat chase scenes could use a lot of
help, like excitement. They should take a cue from the fight scenes and
stick to what they know. That last 30 minutes maybe be one of the
greatest 30 minutes of martial arts cinema ever!
