Banner…

Fooling around with different banners for the top of the site. Originally I had a shot of Philly, but decided to go with something that I actually took. I really just need to get out and shot Philly a bit. Anyway, this is a shot from my trip to Montreal.

Review: Spider-Man/Black Cat: Evil That Men Do…

Spideyblackcat_1
I originally remember this title when it came out in single issue from. But apparently Smith had writers block and then an even bigger case of “lazy fat ass syndrome.” But now the collected hardcover is out.  The verdict? Well you can pretty much tell that Smith had no idea what he was going to write, and at the end just wanted to get it finished. The plot was never very interesting and had not been so short (only 6 issues) I would have never finished it.

I was really disappointed by it too. I’m a big fan of Smith’s writing, but this was just a pure let down.

Samuel Dalembert: My plea to the Sixers…

Just cut him loose. Pay him out of his entire contract. His basketball IQ is lower than Vince Young’s wonderlic score. Granted that seems like it is turning out ok for Young, but sadly Sammy has had many years to prove us wrong. Whether he is out of position, trying to drive the ball up the court, or trying to defend the opposing team’s point guard the length of the floor, the guy is a failure. Lets cut our loses and more on. I’ll even donate if that would help.

Then again his mistakes make him entertaining in a sadistic way and his constant bad play does give us some pretty constant banter. I think that is a mistake worth getting rid of, even at 60 million dollars.

moving time…

Well, Blogger messed up my blog. I went to migrate my blog over to Blogger Beta (Blogger 2.0 I guess) and apparently during the migration my blog got lost in the shuffle. All of that is not that bad, except that it is almost impossible to get in contact with the blogger team. So after a week after several emails and forum posts I’ve given up and decided to give typepad a try.

Kinda sucks though, I hope that will be able to get all my previous posts. But really I expected more considering that they are a property of google. Could this be the first dent in the mighty google armor?

Casino Royale…

Little late, but here it is nonetheless. It was good, best bond film in years. But it’s different, much more serious that any of the more recent films, if not ever. Gone, at least in this film, are all the gadgets. Please give me a moment to cry. They wanted realism and having a car that can turn invisible is not that real, but they could have still included something…maybe a super digital camera or having the car drop those tack thingies. Those would have been cool and real at the same time.

But gadgets aside, it really is a great film, a very good launching point for a re-imagined Bond. And despite what some people say, I thought Eva Green was a green Bond girl.
