Monaco/Monte-Carlo…
Now this is a town. Fucking insane how rich this area looks. Ferrarris, Bentlys, and Mercedes were every where. You had to look hard to not find one. The Grand Casino was nice, but photography was profited and they were pretty strict about it so no photos from inside the casino. Although we didn't go that far in, there was a fee to just enter the playing area and neither Grant or myself were going to gamble. I would definately come back to Monte-Carlo, although I would need a much bigger bank account to really make it worth my while.
Eze Village…
This place was just cool. It's a medieval village on a hill top. The look and decor are for the most part left intact with some of the best views of the surrounding area. The only bad part was that it was flooded with shops. Maybe if i was looking to buy something that would have been more appealing. But all in all Eze was great.
Nice…
Haven't spent a whole lot of time in Nice, we have really been using this as a base of operations for the areas surrounding Nice. It looks like a mix between south beach in miami and beverly hills. Tons of fucking hills. So for it is Nice (pun intended) but not unremarkable.
Aix en Provence…
When we first got off the bus it looked like fucking south central LA. WTF were we doing here. But as we walked towards the city center things got better. Aix is a weird town. Looks nothing like what the travel shows make it out to be. It's all restaurantes and shops. Nothing else. It's one big Manayunk. Just street after street of shopping and eating. Stayed at a 2 star hotel which was surprisingly nice...clean, with a bed, and working bathroom.
Aix was enjoyable for what it was, but I wouldn't get back. I can go to Manayunk for the same experiance without the hassel. Well some hassel Manayunk is a bitch to park at.
Paris…
Sad sad sad. I have a feeling i could have gotten the same experiance from watching Ratitouille [sp?]. Dirty and grafitti filled. And the paris locals are by far the rudest people we have meet in france. Food was crazy expensive and the cheap stuff was horrible.
Eiffel Tower. The extra money to ride the elevator is SOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it. Do not under any conditions take the stairs. Save yourself the heart attack. Sadly my camera battery died as i documenting my painful journey upwards. And I did not pack my extra battery that night, pwnt!
Louve was pretty cool, but incrediably crowded. Mona Lisa was cool, but very small. Ended up hitting 2 of the 3 wings.
Notre Dame interesting, i was impressed with the scale of everything, but otherwise I was bored by it.
Versaille [sp?] was by far the coolest part of paris. The place is simply insane. Shame that it rained on us, which cut short our visit.
