Mass Effect…

Beaten. That game was fucking bad ass. Easily one of the best and most addicting games I've ever played. I can't wait for the sequel.

Assassin’s Creed…

So I just beat the game, literally 5 minutes ago…and…What a crock of fucking shit! I don’t even know how many hours I put in to that game, but talk about a fucking rip off. Ass. Creed is the ultimate summer blockbuster special effects bonanza; all glitz and glamor with no substance. Graphics are amazing. Free running is pretty bad ass. The rest of the fucking game is “been there, done that” material, shit we have seen a million times in other places.

But the absolute worst part about the game is the ending. Or rather lack there of. You get no answers; everything is to be told in the sequel, something I'm sure as shit won’t be buying. Fuck you Ubisoft!

Go to a store that has a demo of it so that you can see the graphics and experience the free running. Then go to wikipedia and read the story outline and save yourself 10 hrs. That's my plan for the sequel.

8 weeks in…

So 8 tv weeks are in the books, with a 9th about to drop. I started the season watching a record number of new shows. Where am I now?

Rookies:
Tell Me You Love Me, stopped watching.

Chuck, one of my favorite shows on tv now. And yes Yvonne Strahovski has a lot to do with that.

Journeyman, Still haven’t seen, but still saved on my dvr.

Reaper, stopped watching.

Private Practice, stopped watching.

Pushing Daisies, I’m hanging in there, but not a whole lot is keeping me hooked.

Life, the individual episode plots are still good. But it’s beginning to wear on me. How long will I be able to maintain.

Bionic Woman, I question whether to watch each episode every week…

Dirty Sexy Money, this is the show I look forward to every week.

Kville, stopped watching.

Returning Veterans:
Dexter, great, just great.

Heroes, horrible season, but I’m still watching. Volume 3 must be better or this show will be lost to me.

House, started off great, now I am just plain tired of the intern angle. I so know that they are just going
to fire everyone and have the old crew get back together, but then what was the past 9 episodes for?

Grey’s Anatomy, last couple of weeks have been great.

Las Vegas, I really don’t know why I watch this show.

24, who knows when this will return

Lost, who knows when this will return

Battlestar Galactica, does not return until 2008. Will it still be the best show on tv?

If I owned the Phillies…

  1. Resign Aaron Rowand…he personifies Philadelphia.
  2. Take Freddie Garcia to a remote spot in the old Navy Yard and shot him.
  3. Sign a real 3rd Baseman…Mike Lowell would probably cost a ton, maybe Pedro Feliz…you just need a stop gap until that kid Costanzo is ready. If you can’t get a real one, just keep increasing the paycheck for Iguchi until he is willing to play it himself.
  4. Hire the scouts from the Red Soxs and Athletics.
  5. Fire all the pitching coaches.
  6. Increase the scouting and player development budgets by 10 fold.

There is no quick way to solve this team. You need pitchers to win, and no pitchers want to pitch in Citizens Bank Park. So my theory: draft them into slavery, and ride them hard through the arbitration years.

But if you going to do that strategy, you have to have great scouts and player development, something which the Phils don’t exactly have. They aren’t bad at producing the batters, mainly Rollins, Utley, and Howard.

However on the pitching side of things, they are abysmal. Hamels is the only notable stud in recent years, and Myers is just good at best. And while we are talking about Hamels, get him to divorce his bat shit crazy wife, then get him to hook up with a hot doctor on the rebound. Hopefully she will get him to forget that crazy holistic healing crap and talk up the qualities of percocet and oxycontin.

Back on point…no sense over paying for crap, Guillermo Mota got a 50 million dollar contract. 50 million dollars, for what!?! There are no studs out there and pitching in such demand that you’re going to pay for it. Save it and use it for some short term batting while you rebuild your pitching staff through the draft.

That’s what I would do.
