Lost Odyssey: Disk 1 Complete…

I’m in it for the story. The gameplay is very bland. From what I read the battle system will get better by the 4th disk. But for the moment it feels like something from the 80s.

Other things that bother me:
Lack of save points / the inability to save wherever you want. I don’t know what is it about Japanese games but they seem to love sparse save points. This is annoying especially when you need to leave and are stuck in a cave or an endless string of dialog. Why oh why won’t they adapt to the new millennium and add the ability to save wherever you want? Mass Effect did that, and it was soooo much better for it.

Loading Screens, there is too much loading going on. Of the 13 hrs I’ve invested probably 1.5 hrs of that is just looking at loading screens. I don’t know what is up with that, I’ve played other games that were just as big that didn’t have as many.

The story, while very intriguing is so fucking depressing. I feel like I should play this thing on a rooftop while downing a bottle of jack. It’s the Piano of JRPGs, if your depressed going in this could very well make you suicidal. Hopefully it will become more uplifting/positive later…

We own the Night…

I should have turn off the lights. That would have been right. I kept watching hope it would become bright. But that was only a slight. It became a plight, which I suffered through with all my might. I would have had more fun flying a kite. Avoid this shite at first sight.

Lost Odyssey…

I bought Lost Odyssey today, and right off the bat I'm cautious. The game is 4 discs (way to go MS for sticking with DVD), but instead of putting everything in a bigger case they give the regular case with 3 dvds stacked on top of each other, and the 4th included in a paper slip case attached to the side. Ghetto.

Hopefully the game is better.

Dragon Wars…

This was pretty bad, but I did enjoy myself. Plot holes abound, it was almost too much to push past, but I was able to find a second wind and put it all behind me. I would have like more giant serpent on giant serpent fighting; this is a dragon war after all. How much of a dragon war can it be if only one guy shows up to the fight? Or maybe some sort of explanation as to why the good guys are only available for the last 15 minutes?

But yeah, with all that said wait for this on cable.

Do I stay or do I go?

I’ve been thinking about that question for a while now. Not all on the same subject, but oddly the same question. Don’t know what that means, maybe it’s a quarter life crisis.
