Uwe Boll Will Quit Making Movies with One Million Signatures

Uwe Boll may be one of the greatest directors of all time. Why? None of his film make any profit that I can see. All of them get universally panned. Yet somehow in the face of that failure he is still able to convince people to give him money to make a film. There is no other director that I can think of that could have that much failure and still churn out films. Spielberg couldn't had a down spell like that and still get money from his own company. Shine a Light…

First U2 in 3D now the Stones in Imax; Shine a Light is the latest concert film to hit the big screens. Much like U2 3D this is pretty much a straight up concert put on film. Providing a short intermission between songs are some humorous interview clips dating back to the early days of the band. For those hoping for more of a documentary style, with shots of back stage shenanigans will be disappointed. The beginning does have some substance, definitely more than U2 3D, but the concert is the focus through and through.

How does it compare to U2 3D? From a film side it blows U2 out of the water. You really get the feeling that the camera work was well thought out beforehand, with close ups of all the action at the perfect angel.

But ultimately this comes down to the music, and the Rolling Stones put on a very good show.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street…

What is it with me and depressing movies as of late? Sweeney is no different. Depressing from start to finished, there isn’t one second of happiness in this film. I did not find any of the music to be that enjoyable or memorable. Tim Burton’s vision is unique to say the least, but is hardly a fault with this film. No, the story and music just didn’t hit for me.
