Yet another reason Microsoft sucks…
Microsoft knew about another defect on it's Xbox 360 in which the system would scratch game discs. Even having engineers mock up potential fixes, but all of the fixes were either impractical (aka really really too expensive) or too expensive (reasonable, but M$ didn't want to spend).
