Yet another reason Microsoft sucks…
Microsoft knew about another defect on it's Xbox 360 in which the system would scratch game discs. Even having engineers mock up potential fixes, but all of the fixes were either impractical (aka really really too expensive) or too expensive (reasonable, but M$ didn't want to spend). Verizon Fios DNS…
Anyone using Verizon Fios and having DNS issues? I started having issues a couple of months ago where the dns server seemed to drop off the map. Apparently the fios modem does not use the normal Verizon public dns servers. I changed my dns entries to verizon's public dns servers on my machine, seeing a difference already. Is anyone else seeing this?
Update: Ever since I changed the dns servers I point to, I've had no issues what so ever. I used 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.5 as my two dns servers. Found this all on Canned Platypus which contains a little bit more detail along with a warning to be very careful which dns servers you use.
MediaWiki…
This past week I took MediaWiki for a spin. Have to say that it's been pretty cool working out the kinks getting it up and running. Something I haven't done for a while. Just have to work out an emailing issue with it, and I should be good to go for fooling around with it. It's pretty cool to be using the actual software that powers Wikipedia.
The Downfall of HD-DVD…
I bet it went down just like this:
Ifail…
My first attempt to get an iphone has failed. AT&T only had ten 16 gb Black iphones, and I was the 15th person in line that wanted one. Another AT&T store had even less stock. Drove to the Apple Store in Ardmore and the line was wrapped around the store several times, so F that.
I'll try my luck in the later days.
